As a young rugrat I hung around radio stations until one day in 1985 I was
offered a job at the former WWOK (OK-106) in Columbia, NC as a board
operator on the weekends. From there I moved to WSEC FM/WIAM AM closing
out the WSEC era and helping to usher in WKKE FM in Williamston, NC (Key 103.7) owned by Mega Media where I worked 7pm to 12 midnight and when the station was sold to Seacomm I helped sign on WHTE FM (Hot 104) and moved operations to Greenville, NC where I worked overnights and handled and coordinated the weekend Hotmix. Then I was hired by WPNC AM-FM (96 Country) in my hometown of Plymouth, NC. Working 7pm-12 midnight and also asked to come back to WHTE to fill the vacent morning drive slot while the station was in transition to new company Gray Communications. This was mainly as a board operator since WHTE was then contempoary Christian with the CBN network. Then after WHTE's sell went through I went back with WPNC full time mainly helping turn the AM to a contemporary christian format and working weekends on 96 Country. WPNC has gone through many owners and format changes since I first started working with them. I've also worked on the Outer Banks of NC with East Carolina Radio in various stations, formats and jobs. Then after that experience was over I missed Plymouth and WPNC too much so I'm back at Magic 95.9 The Music Lovers Station.
